Fundraising events - ActionAid UK's 24-hour coffee break
The 24-hour coffee break is a fundraising event that also carries a campaigning message.
Taking place in the last Friday of Fairtrade Fortnight, ActionAid asks participants to hold a coffee or chocolate-related fundraising event serving Fair Trade products.
The event is publicised through a leaflet mailed to ActionAid supporters, Fairtrade Foundation and Day Chocolate Company supporters. Leaflets are also mailed to a selection of bought-in lists, and the event is promoted through email.
In 2006 two thousand Coffee Break events took place, raisning funds to help ActionAid’s fight against poverty.
