New Fundraising Standards Board launched
06/08/2007
The Fundraising Standards Board is an independent body set up to deal with public complaints about fundraising activity and to give the public a 'mark of reassurance' to look for when giving to charities in the future.
The scheme is voluntary - but more than 415 charities have already joined. In joining, they agree to adhere to a strict set of codes and a 'Fundraising Promise' committing them to treat the public with respect, fairness, honesty and clarity in all their fundraising activities.
Complaints to the Fundraising Standards Board about member charities will be dealt with through a robust and transparent process. Members of the scheme will be identifiable through their use the Fundraising Standards Board logo (a tick) on fundraising materials.
